St Andrews’ old play space was an underused tarmac and grass area. The school contacted us seeking a design that would offer more play value, with opportunities for climbing, open-ended imaginative play and water play.
The old tarmac area now has a large sandpit, a network of interlinked climbing features and a water play area, which includes a rocky stream and one of our popular water pumps. In the adjoining grass area we created hills with balancing logs and an exciting brushwood tunnel that also functions as a habitat for mini beasts and small animals. A canvas covered decking area under weeping willow and pine trees provides a sheltered space for play, relaxation and nature connection.
